5 Simple Things Book Review and Giveaway

This is a review and giveaway for "5 Simple Things" by John Tolsma. Porch Step is offering to giveaway to two of my readers a copy of the book "5 Simple Things" with a Subway Gift Card.

Monday morning after a week at the beach with my family. That's the worst kind of Monday. Half of your brain is still lingering on a sandy shore waiting for the waves to crash upon it and bring you back to reality. Do you know that kind of Monday?

It's the kind of Monday where you have big goals and big plans after a week of reflection, but as soon as you start checking off your "to do" list, you daydream of how freeing it was to have a "do nothing list." What if everyday tasks could be poured into five simple buckets? Things. Thank, Do, Reach Out, Believe and Love. Get past the clutter and complexity with "5 Simple Things". Rediscover what matters most.

"5 Simple Things" is not unlike the count down for a rocket launch in that you start at five and move down to one. It’s a fast read and the idea is truly simple but will require a little bit of thought on your part.

Thank, 5 Things I am Thankful for.
Do, 4 Things I want to accomplish.
Reach Out, 3 People who I want to connect with.
Believe, 2 Things to strengthen my faith and my family.
Love, 1 Random act of kindness.

It’s simple; just like the title.
Start out with giving thanks for five things (I wont elaborate because it worth reading in the book).

Do four and so on.
But this is truly more than just "5 Simple Things" if we all were to apply this just think what could happen? I think many good things. Remember what I said about a little thought? Add a bit of discipline and take action, SIMPLE ACTIONS.

This author has captured the KISS principle (keep it short and simple) in a truly good and I think noble way. A break down of the book also keeps it simple you can read the book in a matter of 15 to 20 minutes depending on your reading speed and it comes with a 30 day chart to help you keep on track and has encouragement at certain points along the way.

This is not a daily planner but is a good way to improve your self and touch others in a meaningful way. I say that this book is a must read and a must try. I highly recommend "5 Simple Things". I give the book 5 Stars out of 5.
