5 Smart Tips to Successfully Add Nursery Space in Your Master Bedroom

The following are great tips you can consider to help you set up a nursery space in your master bedroom: choose multi-functional furniture, use a white noise machine to drown out other noise, match baby decor with the theme in your room, choose decor and furniture colors that harmonize with your master bedroom, and use a divider or a floor mat to separate the spaces.

Welcoming a new baby to your family calls for many changes at home. When you have limited rooms and space in you home, it might be smart to include a nursery area in your own room. Here are some great tips for adding a nursery space in your master bedroom to make the room conducive to both you and your baby:

Choose multi-functional furniture

To save space in your room, make use furniture that is multi-functional. You can look for a changing table with drawers or maybe a crib with shelves. There are also cribs with detachable changing compartments and other clip-on organizers. Aside from saving space, baby necessities are within reach and are better-organized.

Use a white noise machine to drown out other noise

Unlike in a nursery room that is exclusive for your baby, there are other noises in your room that could make it uncomfortable for baby to rest, sleep, or play. Your television set, radio, and the constant conversations between you and your spouse may cause your baby uneasiness. To drown out other noise in your room, use a Sound machine and make baby’s space in the room more conducive and soothing, especially at night.

Match baby decor with the theme in your room

To make your room pleasing to the eye, you can match the theme of your nursery space to the existing theme in your room. For example, if you have leaf designs on your wall paper, you can choose a garden theme for your nursery space. You may consider decorating the nursery wall with a green meadow, colorful flowers, trees, sun, and a rainbow to match baby’s space with yours.

Choose decor and furniture colors that harmonize with your master bedroom

You need not decorate the whole room with shades of pink or all shades of blue. What is important is that you choose furnishings for baby whose colors match or complement your current furniture and fixtures. This way, it will be more pleasing to the eyes.

Use a divider or a floor mat to separate the spaces

If you want to put distinction between your space and the nursery space, you can put a divider in your room or set up a floor mat on the nursery space. Although this may not be necessary, it can help give you and your baby the feeling of being inside another room once you step in and out of the nursery area.

You need not spend too much on furnishings nor worry unnecessarily about this tiny, yet lovely, project at home. It just takes some creativity and imagination to successfully include a nursery area in your master bedroom and save some space at the same time.
