To deal with your child’s behavior problems you should show concern for your child’s schooling, establish good levels of communication with your child, and be a good example to your children.
Misbehavior among children is a common dilemma faced by parents. Children’s behavior problems are caused by various reasons and could worsen if not dealt with early. The good thing is that there are several solutions available to help you remedy your child’s behavior problems. Sending children to boys homes for the summer or seeking professional help may be a good idea. There are also more personal approaches which are just as effective because, after all, you know your children better than anyone else and can best reach out to them. Here are some practical ways to stop behavior problems:
Show concern for your child’s schooling
The time your child spends in school is crucial for his development. It is important that you show your child that you value his schooling. You can participate in volunteer activities or work part time in your child’s school so you can see firsthand what happens there, how your child behaves, the teachers’ morale and other important details that will help you determine the possible causes of your child’s problems. If you cannot spare this much time, you can still make sure that you attend every Home and School meeting, participate in family activities and attend conferences that require parent’s attendance. Your participation will not only make your children feel that you are concerned about them, but will also let their teachers know that you are involved as a parent. They will be more responsive and helpful when you ask them for help concerning your child.
Establish good levels of communication with your child
Communication is basic in every relationship, but most people take it for granted. Communicating with your child does not only mean listening to the good things they have to tell you. Make it a point to regularly ask them how they are and actually listen to what they have to say. When you talk with your child make them feel that you are really interested and concerned. Listen to the details and don’t be overly judgmental. If they tell you any problems that they are going through, ask them how they feel and offer your advice. What your child tells you can help you picture what he or she is really going through and will help you decide how to respond to your child’s misbehavior.
Be a good example to your children
If your child has problems with authority or following rules, it might be difficult for them to listen to your chastisement if you yourself don’t have respect for authority. It may sound cliche to say “be a good example,” but whether you like it or not, your children will always have the tendency to absorb your behaviors, habits and mannerisms, both good and bad. If you want them to listen to you, practice what you preach.
You are personally responsible for your children, so whether you choose to deal with their behavior problems personally or ask for professional help, you should be involved and show concern all the way through.

9 Wonderful Gift Ideas for a 25th Wedding Anniversary
Surprise the couple with silver coins; delight them with personal greetings; consider giving a silver kitchen appliance; engrave a silver wedding anniversary plate; give 25th anniversary religious gifts; please them with a silver anniversary album; amuse them with a photo wall decor; entertain them with a hit music CD of the 80s; enchant their home with a personalized silver wind chime.
These ideas are just some of the memorable and meaningful gifts you can give to a couple celebrating their 25 wedding anniversary.
25th wedding anniversaries call for celebrations of patience, perseverance, happiness, and love. When giving a gift for the couple, it is wonderful to make an especially meaningful present to inspire the couple to live a more fulfilled marriage. Here are some great ides you can consider:
Surprise the couple with silver coins
Give the couple silver coins like American Silver Eagle to add up to their collection or to inspire them to start coin collection together. You may consider including a coin album to complete the gift.
Delight them with personal greetings
One the most meaningful and memorable 25th anniversary gifts, is a record of personal greetings by close family and friends, especially by those who could not join the party and those who have lost touch with the couple. Play the audio or video recording during the party, and your gift will surely be unforgettable.
Consider giving a silver kitchen appliance
This gift is especially great if the couple loves to cook and prepare food. Choose silver kitchen appliances or utensils engraved with their names and make them feel like they’re starting a new home and family together.
Engrave a silver wedding anniversary plate
Make them feel rewarded of the great milestone achieved in their lives by giving them an engraved silver wedding anniversary plate. There are many customized silver plates you can find in gift shops in the neighborhood and on the Internet to choose from.
Give 25th anniversary religious gifts
Many couples believe that relationships are nothing and will never be successful without God. No matter what religion, it is always great to remind the couple of the blessings they have received by giving them a religious gift. You can consider a 25th anniversary cross, a silver holy family, and many more.
Please them with a silver anniversary album
Revive those old memories by giving the couple an anniversary album. This gift is especially great if the couple are your parents. You can load the album with pictures from their yesteryear's to the present. You can also give your parents a digital picture frame with pictures included to add to the wonderful surprise.
Amuse them with a photo wall decor
Be creative and unique with your gift. Give the couple a collage of their wedding pictures, a portrait of couple during wedding, or a family portrait. Restore and enlarge them or you can have them painted to make the gift even more memorable. Finish them with silver frame to fit the silver wedding anniversary motif.
Entertain them with a hit music CD of the 80s
A great way to bring back the sweet and fun memories of the past is to give the couple a hit music CD of the 80s. It was during the 80s that the couple started their wonderful and fruitful relationship and journey that you are now all celebrating.
Enchant their home with a personalized silver wind chime
Give their home a serene atmosphere by surprising the couple with personalized silver wind chime. You can have their names engraved on the holder of the chimes and probably a simple dedication at the back as remembrance.
Wedding anniversaries are great milestones in life worth celebrating with family and friends. Your gift need not be elaborate nor expensive. What is important is that you give something from the heart. Give with thoughts of love and well wishes for the couple that they may live a more meaningful marriage in the coming years.

4 Effective Ways to Build Character in Children
To build character in your children you should embody the values you teach, make your children feel that you care for them, employ discipline strategies and explain the reasons behind them, and use different media as a source of learning.
Character is very important in order for an in individual to stand firm in the midst of crisis and problems that may come in one’s life. Having strong character allows men and women to get over difficulties, solve problems and learn from these experiences. This is the reason why children should be taught important character values such as responsibility, respect, integrity, honesty, nationalism and many others. Schools, churches, civic groups and even girls homes are just some of the organizations that integrate character building in their programs and instill different values in their members. Of course, you can allow your child to attend or participate in at least one of these organizations to help build character. But, remember that, first and foremost, character building must start in the family and within the home. Here are some ways to build character in children:
Embody the values you teach
The best way of instilling essential character traits in your children is to embody these values yourself. For instance, when you teach your children to develop respect for authority, you yourself should show them that you respect authority. Children are easily influenced, especially by the people who matter to them, like their family members, and they can easily emulate the everyday actions and behavior of their parents. It is very important that parents be consistent in the things they teach their children.
Make your children feel that you care for them
Parents should always make it a point to make their children feel that the reason why they are being disciplined and taught certain values is because their parents care for them. When children understand the underlying principles behind the things you teach them, it will be easier for them to follow your lead and not rebel against you. By making your children feel that you are concerned for their welfare, you can reach out to and connect more effectively with them which will make teaching them easier.
Employ discipline strategies and explain the reasons behind them
When children misbehave or make wrong decisions, it is important that parents employ a form of discipline. This will make children feel that they should always be responsible for their behavior and decisions and that there are consequences for their actions, both good and bad. But parents must not simply punish children for their wrongdoings. They should also explain to their children why such disciplinary measures are necessary and reiterate the values that the child violated.
Use different media as a source of learning
Schools use a variety of media like books, documentaries and visual aids to better reach out to students. Parents can also apply the same teaching techniques and use different media as a means of instilling good character values to their children. There are many books and movies that exhibit excellent character principles. Parents can show these to their children and can discuss the moral lessons with them afterward.
Character building is not the responsibility of a formal organization like school or church. Parents must learn to handle the responsibility of building character in their own children.
